A first look at Skipton

Skipton is a market town in North Yorkshire, with a population of 15,000 in 2021. It has a sturdy castle and scenic canal; it's within a short travel time of the Leeds-Bradford conurbation and is on the southern edge of the Yorkshire Dales, so it's a popular day-trip destination. Gargrave and Bolton Abbey are nearby villages also described here.
