A first look at Istanbul/Historical Peninsula

The Historical Peninsula (Turkish: Tarihi Yarımada, or Suriçi, "Walled City") is the oldest part of Istanbul. It's the location of most of its sights, with several ranked as a . It's on the western, European side of the Bosphorus, with the sea to the south and the inlet of the Golden Horn to the north.
